Some of you may have already seen this video. A user recorded this video in order to show how big the difference between the shown model and the real hitbox is. We asked TF-Creator Robin Walker about this video, and he answered us. But before we present the answer, watch the video first:

The problem is that people misunderstand what that hitbox debug display is showing them. When you fire, your client tells the server, and the server rewinds time to calculate your hit against the positions of the other players at the time you fire, so the "lag" in this clientside hitbox display does not affect your actual firing. In other words, the hitbox debug display shown in the video has been created for the purpose of checking whether the size of the hitbox is identical with the model or not. It is NOT the actual hitbox that counts for the game.
