Scout

The Scout is the fastest unit in TF 1.5. Unfortunately he’s very vulnerable because of his weak armor and armament. This class is ideal to be used as a flag-carrier or to thwart pursuers with Caltrops. Because of the Conc-grenades he’s able to cover huge distances with a Concjump.

Sniper

The Sniper is the best long-range fighter and he’s the only unit which can kill opponents with a single shot. For higher damage his shot needs to be charged by holding down the mouse-button and the shot needs to be aimed fort he head or the upper part of the body. If he gets entangled in close-quarter-combat the sniper tries to kill the enemy with his grenades.

Soldier

The Soldier is the perfect handyman. He disposes of a proper speed, good armor, can cause a lot of damage and is suitable for Offense and also Defense.

• The only class which can execute a rocket-jump.

Demoman 

The Demoman can cause huge damge, but it needs a lot of training to play this class perfectly. He can thwart enemies with his blue pipes (grenades) and block small passages. The yellow pipes can be detonated conveniently by pressing the mouse button. His MIRV-grenades can blow big holes in the enemy’s defense. With his DetPack he can open secondary ways into the enemy base.

Medic 

The medic can heal his comrades and can move very fast. In one-on-one battles he is usually inferior to his opponent. With his Conc-grenades he can execute Concjumps just like the Scout. He can poison Enemies with the Medipack. The Supernailgun is suited perfectly for disabling Sentry Guns.

Heavy Weapons - Guy

The HW-Guy is the slowest but also the best armored class in Team Fortress Classic. His 300 bullets can kill several enemies at once if they are lined up. The Heavy should be placed in a position from which he can start shooting at opponents from a long distance. The closer the enemy is the better the HW-Guy hits with his Minigun. His MIRV-grenades can block important areas for a few seconds so that he has time to refresh his ammunition, health and grenades.

• Strongest but slowest unit.

Pyro

The Pyro ist he weakest unit in TFC. He is only played by real Pyro-Fans. The damage he can cause over a short period of time is rather small. Nevertheless he disposes of four incendiary- and four normal grenades. Because of his slightly increased movement speed he can cause some trouble to the enemy lines.

• Flames hinder the sight of the enemy, limited rocket-jump

Spy 

The spy can disguise himself and can, if he’s acting intelligent, move around unseen. He can feign death and then stab from behind. The damage cause by the knife is the highest of all close-combat weapons in TF 1.5. He should beware of enemy medics who want to ‘heal’ him or scouts who can expose him.

Enginner

The engineer is a defensive unit. With his Sentry Gun he can defend his own base excellently or defend important key-positions. The EMP-grenades will cause the ammunitions which is carried around by the enemies to detonate. The shockwave caused by the explosion is even carried through walls. The Dispenser can be blown up too, so it’s advisable to put it in narrow passages. The more ammunition the dispenser has the bigger is its explosive power.

• Can build Sentry Guns (automatic defensive cannon)
• Can repair the armor of his comrades(by beating on it with the screw-wrench)
• Can build a dispenser from where his teammate can resupply armor and ammunition
• Can build transporters with which his teammates can beam themselves over long distances just like in StarTrek

Civilian (VIP)

The Civilian isn’t really a class since he can only be played on Hunted-Style-Maps. He has to be protected by the own team and assassinated by the other team.
