Arena Maps

Arena Maps were have been introduced to the game with the new Heavy-Update. The Arena mode is failry simple: all that's required is to neutralize all players of the enemy team or to control the CP that get's available after 60 seconds. Familiar maps such as badlands and granary have been transformed(altered with just one middle CP), however, two new maps are waiting for combats in 3vs3 or 12vs12. There is no resupply and rather few healt packs. Thus, focus shifts again on classes such as Pyro or Spy and that's is the base for a lot of new interesting tactics.


ARENA-Lumberyard

Lumberyard is the first map in the alpine setting and has been introduced with the Heavy-Update. The maps centre is one big building with two stairwells and a great hall. In there is the control point that can be captured after 60 seconds. Moreover, there is just one small health pack placed on a trunk - dangerously near to the ridge of a ravine.


ARENA-Ravine

Ravine is one of the Arena maps designed by Valve, next to Lumberyard. The centre is here a tower, which is sorrounded by a ditch. Above all, health packs are not available.

 

ARENA-Badlands

On Arena Badlands, the middle Control Point has been obliged to be the only one. In contrast to the CP-version, the battlefield has been fenced.


ARENA-Well

On Arena Well, both teams fight in and around the train hanger of CP_Well. The space between the hall and the factory(CP 2) has been narrowed with the consequence that the little water ditch was removed. The spawning point is now between the overhead doors of the original.


ARENA-Granary

The fifth arena map of the Heavy-Update. Similar to Arena Badlands and Well, the middle of the original is the focus of the battlefield. Again, the spawning point is located between CP 2 and 3 of the bigger version.


ARENA-Watchtower

Watchtower is the first custom Arena map that came with the Scout-Update. The mapper Joshua ‘JoshuaC’ Shiflet used the alpine textures of the Heavy-Update and built a huge map with a tower as centre.


ARENA-Nucleus

Nucleus has been introduced with the Sniper vs. Spy Update and is actually the first real indoor map. Moreover, it's the first one with support for the TF2-Bots.t.


ARENA-Sawmill

Sawmill is set - as the name tells - in a sawmill. Furthermore, it's the first time that it is raining on a TF2 map. Players should be aware of the huge disk saw. It's located in the map's centre!

 

ARENA-Offblast

"Arena Offblast is a fast-paced, high-altitude community map set in a top secret missile silo wedged into the top of a hollowed-out mountain. Open-air paths and narrow hallways converge on a central control point located just under the silo’s blast doors.

This mountaintop arena also boasts a sheer cliff face encircling the battleground, giving you the chance to help your opponents improve their tactics. Specifically, anyone you blast over the side will get some time to think about the various flaws in their “standing next to the edge of a cliff” strategy as they plummet to an excruciating, non-respawnable death."
