Nach längerer Pause meldet sich Valve mit einem neuen Update zurück. Mit im Gepäck sind dabei ein neues Promo-Item und ein neues Misc-Item in Form von einem Paar Hosen für den Engineer. Doch auch Team Fortress 2 selbst kommt nicht zu kurz. Zahlreiche Optimierungen und Korrekturen wurden von Robin Walker & Co. umgesetzt.

Die neuen Gegenstände, 2 an der Zahl, umfassen einen neuen Hut, den Bolt Action Blitzer, der für alle Klassen nutzbar ist und einen neuen MISC-Gegenstand, der einzig und allein dem Engineer zur Verfügung steht. Beim zuletzt genannten, handelt es sich um die Texas Half-Pants, einer Lederhose im Western-Stil. Den Hut erhält man durch das Freischalten des "Key in the City" Achievements in CrimeCraft GangWars.

  • Bolt Action Blitzer

    

    The Bolt Action Blitzer is an unlockable promotional headwear item for all classes. It is a team-colored football helmet with a black stripe running down the middle and bolts protruding from it.
    
    The Bolt Action Blitzer is awarded to players who complete the CrimeCraft GangWars achievement Key to the City.

  • Texas Half-Pants

    

    The Texas Half-Pants are a community-created miscellaneous item for the Engineer. They are a pair of beige leather chaps, featuring metal bolts attached to the side and team-colored tassels.
    
    This item has two unique styles. The second style colors the chaps a darker brown.

Diese Update bringt nicht nur Items. Ein kurzer Blick auf das Changelog verrät, dass Valve viele Optimierungen vollzogen hat. Allein in der Source Engine, wurde weiter an der Client- und Serverstabilität geschraubt, um diese zu verbessern. So wurde das Log-System der Console aktualisiert und die Anzahl der Prozesse von Dateiöffnungen und -schließungen minimiert.

Eine weitere Neuerung betrifft die Strage-Parts. Diese können nun mittels "Restore-Button" von den Waffen entfernt werden. Zudem können die Punkte der Strange Parts ebenfalls zurückgesetzt werden.

Für Sniper, denen das Crosshair während des Zoomed-In-Modus auf den Zeiger ging, bietet sich nun in den "Erweiterten Optionen" (Advanced Options) eine Einstellung an, die alle Default- oder Custom-Crosshairs beim Zoomen entfernt.
