It happened, Meet the Pyro has been released at last. The circle is now complete.

To some fans' disappointment (or relief, depending on who you ask), the Pyro's idendity is not unveiled in the movie, but it's a good movie all the same. In it, the Pyro is shown burning down an entire Western-like town in a cold-blooded fashion, only to reveal that in the Pyro's eyes, it's all sugar and rainbows - literally. Four years after Haze, we get another taste on how hallucinogenics can make all the difference in the world.

And that's not all. Valve also surprised us with the reveal of the Source Film Maker. This tool is used by Valve to create trailers and other videos for their games. They said they would release it once all of the 9 "Meet the" videos would be released, and eventually kept their promise. Since the movie was a given from the start, the announcement of he film maker is the real surprise of the Pyromania Update.

The tool is still in development, but beta keys will be given away by participating on a hardware survey. One can increase their chances of receiving a beta key by having released a highly-rated item in the Steam Workshop (in other words, be a good modeler and have something of good quality released in the past). Eventually, however, the film maker will be made available for everyone.

Lastly, Adult Swim revealed their promotion deal they have with Valve (which was announced shortly before the beginning of the Pyromania Update). The promotion is a hat called "Robot Chicken" which is wearable by all classes. In order to get the hat, one must register for a free account on Adult Swim and check at least one box on the newsletter field to receive at least one of them. I repeat: the account alone won't do it, get a newsletter subscription!

The first batch of redeem codes for the hat are given out on June 28th, 2012, if you've registered and confirmed your account prior to Midnight, June 27th. There is a last chance for getting the hat: Any registration done after Midnight, June 27th, will receive the code on July 5th, 2012. After that date, the promotion apperarently ends.
