Mecha Update Day 2: The Update is Live!
Written by KamiKatze and translated by Der Feine Herr on 21.12.2012 Time 13:22

It came in the night to Friday: The Mecha Update! Yesterday, we reported what would be coming today (see News), but there have been a whole lot of changes, which we will present now.d

Smissmas 2012 Mecha Update

As we mentioned earlier, the new Mann vs. Machine Map, Big Rock, as well as a new  Robot Class, the Mecha-Engineer, and three new Advanced Skill Missions (two of the for Big Rock) as well as a  Normal Skill Mission have been implemented.

The Mecha-Engineer is indeed capable of building a Level 3 Sentry Gun. Moreover, he builds Teleporters, that are spawn points for the other robots. That means they will reach their target faster if you won't stop them!

Let's face the most important part of any update: The items! We have new Botkiller weapons, new festive weapons, new winter weapons, , Adult Swim Items, Strange Filter Parts and even new crates and keys. The Strange Filters can constrain the Strange stats of your weapon to a specific map. You support the map creater with your purchase of these filters, since they are involved in the bargain. The keys are the Nice Winter Crate Key 2012 and the Naughty Winter Crate Key 2012. They open the new winter crates. The crate series 54 and 55 contain new Strange weapons. Plus, crate #55 contains e.g. a Strange Medi-Gun.

Tenth Most Famous Reindeer? Not for long! Reindoonicorn may have hit rock bottom after being benched in favor of a mutant with a bioluminescent growth on his nose, but those decades spent bouncing from one halfway house to the next have given him all the grit and determination he needs to get back on top! That and the fact that he's recently been seen hanging around with nine heavily armed lunatics practically guarantees that this is one reindeer to watch out for.

Valve opened the Mann Co. Online Store over the night. That means that you can buy virtual items outside the game. Your first purchase is rewarded with a  Mann Co. Online Cap belohnt.

The three items that were introduced in the last news are craftable. The blueprints can be found here: Blueprints

Furthermore, next to the whole winter and robot stuff, Valve did a lot of bugfixes and map adjustments. They fixed the exploit that made it possbile that players stay ubercharged permanently, as well as the Airblast-bug-when-aiming-down.

The items have been adjusted, too. The World Traveler's Hat's taunt effect has been improved and the knockback effect of the Force-A-Nature has been revised,

Plus, several map exploits on pl_Barnblitz and sd_Doomsday should be a part of the past.
